Very Large Antique Sunderland Lustre ‘Mariners’ Arms’ Mug

A very rare extra large 19th century Sunderland lustre ‘Mariners Arms’ mug with stunning decoration. One side shows an illustration of ships with two men either side of the mariners coat of arms, both holding flags. The other side of the mug features the poem ‘The Sailor’s Tear’, surrounded by flowers and leaves. The transfer on both sides has been hand coloured in deep pink, green and yellow. In addition, the mug is extensively decorated with pink lustre. 

Very good antique condition. The lustre is very good with minimal wear. Light crazing to the inside of the mug. A small firing mark to the rim. Marks to the base of the mug. Please see photos for exact condition.
